Breaking News: Ex-SGF Mustapha Reveals Shocking Forgery Scandal in $6.2m CBN Withdrawal

In a stunning revelation, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, has testified that ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s signature was forged to withdraw a staggering $6.2 million from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The shocking news has sent ripples through the political and financial landscape of Nigeria.

Mustapha made the revelation during his testimony as the second prosecution witness in the ongoing trial of Godwin Emefiele, the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The trial, which has captivated the nation, has brought to light a series of alleged criminal breaches of trust, forgery, and conspiracy to commit forgery.

The former SGF stated that neither he nor former President Buhari had authorized the disbursement of the funds to international election observers.

He further claimed that he had only learned of the incident through published news articles in December 2023.

During his testimony, Mustapha was presented with a letter that was allegedly used to request the funds.

The letter, titled “Re: Presidential Directive on Foreign Election Observer Missions,” and dated January 26, 2024, with reference number SGF.43/L.01/201, was deemed to be fraudulent by the former SGF.

Mustapha pointed out that the letter lacked the usual seal of the President of Nigeria, which would have been the authority in such correspondence.

He also mentioned that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) decisions are not transmitted by letters, but rather through extracts after conclusions are adopted.

As the trial continues, the nation watches with bated breath to see the outcome of this high-profile case.

The revelation of the alleged forgery of President Buhari’s signature has added a new layer of intrigue to an already complex and captivating trial.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as the nation seeks to uncover the truth behind the alleged $6.2 million withdrawal scandal and the involvement of those responsible.
