Bauchi State University Renamed SAZU in Honor of Nigerian Nationalist

Bauchi State University has officially changed its name to Sa'adu Zungur University (SAZU) following the approval of the governing council of the institution.

The decision was reached during a council meeting led by the chairman, Prof Ango Abdullahi.

The renaming of the university comes after Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, signed the bill for renaming the university as passed by the State House of Assembly.

The council members unanimously adopted the new name in honor of the late Nigerian nationalist and politician, Mallam Sa'adu Zungur.
