Bauchi State Invests N396 Million in Student Registration for External Exams

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has approved a substantial sum of N396,963,000 for the registration of final year secondary school students for NECO, WAEC, JAMB, and NBAIS external examinations.

The investment aims to ease financial burdens on students and parents, particularly during challenging times.

Unlike previous years, where payments for external examinations were often delayed or covered through borrowed funds, Governor Mohammed has ensured that these funds are paid upfront, reflecting his proactive approach to educational support.

The initiative is designed to ensure that students are well-prepared to excel in their external examinations, promoting quality education across the state.

In addition to the sponsorship for external examinations, Governor Mohammed has also covered the JAMB examination fees for 1,542 students who achieved an impressive A grade in the aptitude test.

This strategic move is intended to inspire other students to strive for academic excellence and reinforces the government’s dedication to nurturing a culture of meritocracy in education.

The funds released for external examinations for the current academic session represent an increase of about 59.98 percent from 2021/2022 to 2022/2023 and approximately 26.58 percent from 2022/2023 to the current year.

The substantial investment in education by the Bauchi State government highlights its commitment to fostering educational excellence and providing financial support to students and their families.

By investing in the future of its students, the state is paving the way for a more educated and prosperous society.
