ASUP Applauds National Assembly for Bill Establishing Separate Commission for Polytechnics

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has praised the National Assembly, particularly the House of Representatives, for its dedication to establishing a separate commission for polytechnic education in Nigeria.

The polytechnic lecturers believe that a separate commission, similar to a regulatory agency, would greatly benefit polytechnic education in the country.

ASUP’s National President, Anderson Ezeibe, expressed gratitude to the House of Representatives for passing the bill and urged the Senate to follow suit.

He emphasized that the establishment of a separate commission would address the challenges faced by polytechnic education and provide a platform for its development.

The bill, which has been passed by the House of Representatives, seeks to create a National Commission for Polytechnics to oversee and regulate the activities of polytechnics in Nigeria.

This would be a significant step towards improving the quality of education and addressing the challenges faced by polytechnic institutions.

The National Assembly’s efforts in passing this bill demonstrate a commitment to the growth and development of polytechnic education in Nigeria.

The establishment of a separate commission would not only provide a more focused approach to polytechnic education but also ensure that it receives the attention and resources needed for its advancement.

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics’ appreciation for the National Assembly’s efforts in passing the bill for a separate commission for polytechnics highlights the importance of such a move for the development of polytechnic education in Nigeria.

With the Senate’s support, this bill could pave the way for a brighter future for polytechnic education in the country.
