Army claims responsibility for bombing of Kaduna villagers

The NAF said they bombed people during a Maulud Nabiy party at Tudun Biriin Igabi Local Government of Kaduna State.

The army, though, said the flying bombs were by mistake, saying workers were going after bad guys.

Around 30 people were thought to be dead in the flying bombs on Sunday night.

Samuel Aruwan, Big Commissioner, Ministry of Inside Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, said in a talk on Monday that the Army said they did the bad thing.

“The Kaduna State Government has heard about Sunday night’s hit, which killed many people and hurt others. In a meeting led by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, which had security, religion, and tradition people, the Nigerian Army said what happened that led to the bad and not planned hit.

“The General Officer Commanding One Division Nigerian Army, Major VU Okoro, said that the Nigerian Army was doing normal work against bad guys but by mistake hit members of the place,” the talk said.

It was also said that the deputy governor, after the secret meeting, said sorry to the government and people of Kaduna State for the families that lost their people.

“As of the time of this news, looking-for and saving works are still going on, as many hurt people have been taken to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital by the government.
