FG resumes suspected Boko Haram members’ trial

The Federal Government has resumed the trial of accused Boko Haram members.

The trial is happening at the Kainji Prosecution Project Phase IV in Niger State.

The big lawyer of the government and justice, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, said at the start of court time in Niger on Monday that the first part started in 2017.

He said that the government got 366 guilty ones in the 2017 trial, while 896 others were freed for no proof.

Fagbemi also said that 61 other cases were moved to later times.

He said, “I am very happy to see you all at this special thing that shows the start again of the trial of terror people.

“This day is special for many things. First, the day shows one more step in the way of making sure Nigeria and Nigerians are safe and secure, a work that is very important to all of us here, as it is the main work of the government to ensure the safety and well-being of its people.
