APC Declares Edo Primary Election Inconclusive, Sets New Date for Completion

In a surprising twist to the ongoing political saga in Edo State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) announced on Tuesday night that the controversial primary election for the state’s governorship race has not yet been concluded. The party has now scheduled Thursday, February 22, 2024, for the completion of the process.

The decision was made public by the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, who read the National Working Committee’s (NWC) decision following an emergency meeting.

According to Morka, the NWC deliberated on the report and resolved that the primary election had not been completed.

This announcement comes amid ongoing tension and uncertainty surrounding the governorship election, which is scheduled for September 21, 2024.

The decision to extend the primary election process has raised questions about the party’s internal processes and the potential impact on the upcoming election.

Political analysts and observers will be closely watching the developments in Edo State in the coming days, as the APC moves forward with its plans to complete the primary election process.

The outcome of this process could have significant implications for the future of the state and the balance of power within the APC.
