AMAC Chairman commiserates with Karu Chiefdom over death of traditional ruler

Mr Christopher Maikalangu, Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), has commiserated with the people of Karu Chiefdom, over the death of the Sa’karuyi of Karu Chiefdom, Dr Emmanuel Yepwi.

The chairman said this when he paid a condolence visit to the palace of the late traditional ruler, on Saturday in Abuja.

This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Kingsley Madaki, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs to the chairman.

Maikalangu described him as an upright leader who worked tirelessly for the well-being of members of Karu Chiefdom during his lifetime.

He added that he was an upright man, full of good counsel and a rare gem to the people of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

“Sa’karuyi Karu was known to be very supportive of my administration, his love for his people knew no bounds as he held the chiefdom dear to his heart.

“I wish to convey my condolences to the family of our beloved eminent traditional ruler, most especially his wife.

She “has been a pillar of support to him before and during his reign. I also wish to condole with the people of Karu Chiefdom for this great loss,” he said.

Yepwi died at the early hours of Saturday, after a brief illness.
