Akoku Community commends Ochor for effective representatio

The member representing the Ukwuani State Constituency, Rt. Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor has been commended for the effective representation of the Ukwuani Local Government Area in the Delta State House of Assembly.

The commendation came when the representatives of the Traditional Ruler of the Akoku Community paid the Deputy Speaker a thank you visit at his Umutu Constituency office on Friday, July 24, 2020.

Commending the Deputy Speaker, the Okpala-Uku who was represented by the Chairmen of the Akoku Development Union, Chief Ashibudike Otutu said that the community is happy with Ochor’s performance which has ensured that the community needs are met both in terms of infrastructural and political development of the state.

He stated that the community had been overwhelmed with the Deputy Speakers’ attention, stressing that through Ochor’s efforts different government offices has been paying attention to the Akoku Community, and prayed he should not be dissuaded in any way in his representation of the people of Ukwuani Local Government Area.

“My Rt. Honourable, we have seen your good efforts in representing our people at the State House of Assembly. We were not surprised when we went to offices to submit documents in some government offices and were told you had already sent input on our behalf, we commend you for this.”

“This further confirms that when we chose you to represent us, we know we had not made any mistake.”

In his reaction, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor thanked the Okpala-Uku and the people of Akoku community for the commendation and promised that he will continue to do his best as the representative of his constituency.

He told them that most of his achievements as their representative is due to their prayers and cooperation, and the understanding from the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

“I have to tell you, my success for the first year as your representative has been from community’s like Akoku who had always been supportive. With your commendation, I promise to do more for you.”

“However, in doing more, we have to also commend the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for his concerns for our people. He has been very supportive. And I have to commend him for that.”

He promised that he will continue to push for the development of all communities in the local government through better legislative activities to ensure that Ukwuani is not shortchanged in the affairs of the state.

Pointing out that one of the areas he will be passionate to see that the constituency is not cheated is in the delineation of wards by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC.
