Afenifere’s Secretary-General Declares Interest in Ondo Governorship Polls

The Secretary-General of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, Chief Sola Ebiseni, has declared his intention to contest in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the election for November 16, 2024.

Ebiseni, who recently joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), believes that this year’s governorship election will be a defining moment for the state.

He emphasized that the state has had the privilege of being governed by intellectually suave and well-groomed leaders, who have been influenced by the ideology of the Awolowo school of thought.

The Afenifere chieftain expressed his confidence in his ability to lead the state, stating that his knowledge and orientation make him the best candidate for the job.

He further mentioned that the forthcoming election would be a crucial moment for the 46-year-old Sunshine State.

As the race for the governorship of Ondo State gathers momentum, the political landscape is heating up with various candidates vying for the top position.
