Senator Omo-Agege is a Legislative and not an Executive Official

We must say we are quite overwhelmed by the deluge of appreciation and positive responses received so far with respect to the ongoing Empowerment Program embarked upon by Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege in Delta Central, his Constituency.

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege

The feedback thus far has been quite humbling with a great many of his constituents and commentators alike applauding the Senator’s initiative to reach out to the downtrodden amongst his constituents at currently economically trying times such as these.

We have nevertheless noted a handful of what can only be described as poorly informed or mischievous criticism from certain quarters ranging from persons calling on the Senator to terminate the empowerment program or suggesting that it would have been better for him to have built hospitals or factories instead of directly empowering members of his constituency as he is presently engaged in.

Senator Omo-Agege is a lawmaker and as such a member of the Legislature.

He is not a President, Minister, Governor, Commissioner or Local Government Chairman who are all members of the Executive and in a position to execute projects such as hospitals or factories.

The most a Senator can do in that regard is to keep fighting to attract such projects to his constituency and in the area of protecting the interest of Urhoboland, Senator Omo-Agege is an authentic patriot per excellence.

It must not be forgotten that even as a serving Senator, Senator Omo-Agege is a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, which is not the ruling party in Delta State.

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has been extremely forthright and up-and-doing in his stewardship thus far and his going the extra mile to bring succor to his constituents by directly empowering them in their moment of need is to be applauded rather than vilified by the ill informed or the mischievous.
