FA CUP FINALS: J. Atete, Delta Queens emerges champions

 

The Delta State Football Association (DAF) 18th Federation Cup Finals sponsored by Felix Anirah Foundation held at the Sapele Township Stadium, with J. Atete F.C beating Delta Warriors F.C with a lone goal to emerge 2017 FA Champion.

The Felix Anirah Foundation as part of their youth empowerment and development programme bankrolled the FA Cup finals to promote football and sport activities and also encourage youths to take to sport as a means of living.

In the first match played, the female categories Delta Queens F.C, the FA defending champions trashed their opponent Delta Babes F. C, three goals to emerge as the female champion.

The residents of Sapele were treated to superlative, breathtaking performance by the four participating teams, as the teams gave good account of themselves.

Delta State Football Association’s vice chairman, an ex-international, Mr Edema Fuludu, commended the President/CEO of the Felix Anirah Foundation, Chief Felix Anirah for his intervention, without which the state FA cup would not have held this year.

He encourage the four team in the finals to make the state proud at the national level by bring the 2017 Supper Cup home.

The sponsor of the championship, Chief Anirah in his remakes urged good spirited Deltans and cooperate bodies to support sport development in the state, adding that government alone cannot provide everything.
