Pat Utomi is a great asset to Nigeria- Olu of Warri

The Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli 1, has described erudite Professor of economics, Pat Utomi as a great asset to Nigeria who possesses the intellect and competence to pull the country out of the present challenge.

The monarch stated this at his palace in Warri when Utomi paid a courtesy visit to the Olu on Wednesday, adding that if Utomi is privileged to serve the Nation and the Delta State, he will bring about positive transformation to the generality of Nigerians.

He urged Utomi to keep up the good work in trying to raise new sets of leaders and entrepreneurs through his Young Entrepreneurs Training Program.

Prof Utomi told the monarch that he came to commission a block of five classrooms at Ogbe Primary School, Effurun, Uvwie local government area, Delta State, which was renovated and furnished by the Rotary Club of Effurun G.R.A.

He added that coming to Warri he felt that it is necessary to visit the monarch and also tell him what his organization with foreign partners are doing to empower the youths in the state, adding that 400 youths were recently selected across the state and 100 of them from Warri and are currently undergoing  entrepreneurship training.

Earlier, at Ogbe Primary school, Utomi stated that the two critical factors that can lead to progress in Nigeria and Africa is, qualitative education and good health care system, noting that the dilapidated classroom structures he saw at the school made his heart sink.

According to Utomi; the two must critical factors that must be present if we must make progress as a people are quality education and good health care system which is affordable. If our people are educated and well, they will trigger up development.

“However, our governments have failed in this regard, I want to commend Rotary for the good job they have done, because when I saw the state of other classrooms in the school before this intervention my heart sank.”

He promised to make further donation to ensure that other blocks of classroom at the school are renovate, he urged Deltans not to lose hope, adding that better days are ahead if only the people can support what is right.
