Fixing Nigeria may not be easy, says APC Diaspora Youth Leader

By Emmanuel Mogbede

Mr Oyakhilome Bello, National Youth Leader, APC, US Chapter on Monday in Abuja says fixing Nigeria’s challenges will not be rocket science or by magic.

Bello said this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) while reacting to the high expectations of Nigerians on the new administration led by President Bola Tinubu.

He said Nigerians should be patient with the new administration to work things out.

“I understand that expectations are very high, but I want to tell Nigerians that it will not be a rocket science or by magic, so let’s exercise patience and support the new government to work things out.

“The new government will definitely forge ahead on the right path; make the right decisions that will give us progress, prosperity and a new Nigeria that we all had hoped for.

“It is now time for us to work together as a team to develop the Nigeria of our dream; to make it a better place for us to leave in,” he said.

Bello said that the programmes and policies to be put in place by the new administration would create enabling environment for businesses and youths to strive in the country.

He said the move would help curb the number of Nigerian youths that travel abroad for greener pastures.

The youth urged Tinubu to form an inclusive government that would ensure youths benefited from his government in terms of political appointments.

He said Diaspora youths were willing to return to the country to work with the new administration and contribute their quota to national development.

According to him, the youths have great ideas and technological expertise to move the country forward.

“Nigerians are breaking grounds in different fields of human endeavour abroad. The youths will benefit a lot in the new administration in the next four years in terms of employment.

“I am the Chairman of Youth and Employment Committee of the APC, and we are working on some proposals that we will send to Tinubu administration for implementation,” he said.

Bello said there was however the need for the party to work on Nigerian youths specifically to have better understanding of situations in the country.

He said that Nigeria is blessed with abundant mineral resources, some of which are untapped, adding that with effective utilisation of the country’s resources, the country would be the envy of other nations.
