Products of our world-class facilities will solve Nigeria leadership challenges -Prof. Omojo

The world-class facilities and the massive infrastructure at the disposal of the Admiralty University coupled with arrays of topnotch and internationally exposed professors were deliberate actions geared towards realising one of the visions of the institution which is to produce world-class leaders not only for Nigeria but for the Africa continent as a whole. This citadel of learning which vision is world-class in all ramifications is poised not only to match this self-imposed task but to also exceed it.

Disclosing this recently in an interview with some select journalists in Delta State, the Vice-Chancellor of Admiralty University, Prof. Paul Omojo Omaji said the institution which was licensed by the Federal Government on December 2017 and commenced academic activities on January 2019 was the first of its kind with a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model as its ownership structure.

He said the Nigeria Navy represented by the Navy Holding Limited controls major equity of the University located along the serene Ibusa/Ogwashi-Uku Expressway near Asaba the Delta State capital.

The University was given the nod by the National University Commission (NUC) to run five Faculties at the first instance, but three are presently running namely; Arts & Social Science, Science and Management Science boasts of 24hours electricity supply, well equipped Heath Centre, state of the art Female/Main Hostels and a modern Sports Complex.

Other topnotch facilities of the University that styled itself as; “A global University Educating Luminary Leader” and with the motto: “Onward Together” includes; Vice Chancellor’s Lodge, Multi-purpose Hall, Well equipped Library, imposing Academic and Senate Buildings, Decent Staff Quarters, Modern and well-equipped Biology, Chemistry and Physics Laboratories, Cafeteria of international standard among others.

Prof. Omojo who was flanked during the briefing by top management staff also informed that since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic which disrupted academic activities of most institutions of learning, that Admiralty University has had uninterrupted teaching through online which he said has paid off handsomely as students of the University have completed their first semester and that second semester is in progress noting that the same process was also used to conduct the matriculation of recently admitted fresh students.

The University which has a flexible and most convenient way of payment of fees by students through instalment also has three categories of scholarships for its students namely; Merit, Compassionate and Community based scholarships.
