Zamfara: Bandits Abduct 21 Family Members and Gun Down Policemen in Kasuwar Daji

Armed bandits stormed the village of Kasuwar Daji in the Kaura Namoda local government area of Zamfara State, Nigeria, at 1am on Tuesday. The attack resulted in the abduction of over 40 villagers, including 21 members of the same family.

According to a source close to the family, the attack was a revenge operation. Among those abducted were the two wives, 13 children, brother, and dependants of the former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Hamisu Kasuwar Daji.

Tragically, two policemen were killed during the three-hour operation, as the bandits attacked the police station attached to the residence of the former NURTW chairman.

The third wife of the chairman was fortunate to escape abduction, as the bandits were unable to access her room.

The source also mentioned that the bandits searched several houses around the area and abducted many people before they left the village. The villagers are now living in fear after this terrifying attack.

This incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region and the need for a stronger, more effective response from the government and law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of the people.
