Young Duu Chooses Carter Efe Over Portable for Collaboration

Nigerian singer Oluwabamishe Abioro, known by his stage name Young Duu, expressed his preference for collaborating with skit maker and comedian Carter Efe over vocalist Portable.
This statement comes on the heels of Young Duu accusing Carter Efe of not paying him for their music collaboration, ‘Oyinmo’.
Despite the financial disagreement, the 20-year-old artist shared his interest in working with Carter Efe due to his influential connections in the entertainment industry.
Before his rise to fame in 2023, Young Duu had already begun his music career.
He eventually joined Zeh Nation, a record label owned by the popular and controversial street pop artist Portable.
However, due to claims by Portable that Young Duu had not contributed to the label’s success since joining, the young artist chose to leave the record label and collaborate with Carter Efe instead.
The duo then released the hit song ‘Oyinmo’, which made waves across music streaming platforms.
During the interview, Young Duu compared Carter Efe with Portable and stated, “I will rather work with Carter Efe than with Portable because he has more connections and if he is ready to do something, he do it.”
He acknowledged that both artists have connections but emphasized that he made his decision based on his experiences and the potential for future collaborations.
This decision by Young Duu highlights the dynamics of the Nigerian music industry and the importance of connections and networking in achieving success.
It also sheds light on the challenges young artists face in navigating the industry, particularly in terms of financial compensation and support from established artists and record labels.
As the music scene continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how these collaborations and partnerships shape the careers of artists like Young Duu and the future of the Nigerian music industry as a whole.
