Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has sparked fresh concern about her marriage after posting an emotional message on Instagram that hints at deep unhappiness. In the Tuesday night post shared to her story, she questioned why women face criticism for showing frustration in their relationships.
"For person to tire for marriage now nah taboo because nah woman! Must it always be man must taya?
My tayad is tayad! I am tayad of the Princess wey dey marry me.
What is wrong with that? To be happy as a woman in marriage nah by connection in this country!" she wrote.
Ogbodo went on to suggest she has endured years of marital strain. "I no do again nah sin?
Make nobody push me to the wall because I be rubber ooo! 8 years of my life isn't enough yet? Maybe I should give it 20 years or maybe 6 feet under before the crown of thorns can fit me well!!" she added.
Her husband, Bobby Maris, responded cryptically on his own story. He simply posted the word "Delivered" without elaboration.
In a separate post, Maris wrote: "The crown wife is not fit for every woman's head." He offered no further details about what prompted his remark.
The couple married in January 2023, though they had been together longer. They welcomed their daughter Lumina Ugwoegbu in 2021 and their son Ifeanyichukwu Xavier Ugwoegbu in 2023.
Both have since unfollowed each other on the social media platform. As of now, neither Ogbodo nor Maris has released a statement explaining their posts or confirming the current state of their marriage.
