Warri/Uvwie and environs to experience a facelift -Ejiyenre

The Director General, Warri/Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency (WUEDA), Chief. Godwin Ejiyenre has reintegrated the Government’s desire to restore the lost glory of Warri/Uvwie and Environs.

Chief. Ejiyenre stated this upon resumption of his new office in a meeting held with the management and staff of the Agency in Warri.

According to the DG, “The task given to us by the Governor is huge, and we will do everything humanly possible as key players through this Agency to carry out our job positively in the right direction to give Warri/Uvwie and Environs a total facelift,” he said.

He affirmed that the Agency has done well in the past, adding that there are things that must be improved upon to make the mandated area a better place for all to live in.

“I have come and gone round the Agency. We have to hit the ground running and the time is now. The present state of the twin cities is not pleasing to the Governor, A lot of sensitization needs to be done to create public awareness in restoring Warri and Environs to their original glory. Whatever deface Warri to look this dirty, must be cleared from the entrance point of the city to the NPA waterside.” he mentioned.

He commended the management and staff for work well done and urged them to keep the flag flying, saying that they must be diligent in their job and doing the right thing to protect the image of the Government. He maintained that he is not going to be a boss, but partner in progress to improve and build upon the MORE agenda of the State Government.

Furthermore, the DG, upon visiting the construction site of the Ogunu Community main road and Agogo layout (Phase I), in Warri South LGA alongside some board members and his aides was briefed by the Director of Projects, Engr. Bemigho Ofoeyeno, on the level of work done so far, commended the Contractor, Centdraken Global Services as well as the Director Project for the ongoing work. He affirmed that Governor Sheriff has Zero tolerance for substandard jobs, hence every job must be delivered on quality standards.

“Any job given out must be well supervised to ensure that we get the best, as the job is for Deltans, and we are here today, but we are not going to be here forever, so whatever we are doing we must do it right, so even the generation unborn will benefit from it,” he stated.

Earlier, the Director of Administration and Finance of the Agency, Mr. Simon Esi, warmly welcomed the new Director General, Chief. Ejiyenre assured him on behalf of the management and staff that they would work with him effectively to succeed and achieve his goal.
