Tinubu’s agenda offers new hope for Nigeria, says Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has urged Nigerians to embrace dialogue and peace as the best ways to overcome the various challenges facing the country. He said that President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda, which was launched to mark the 63rd Independence anniversary, was a new beginning for Nigeria.

Wike, who was the guest speaker at a public lecture and special Jummu’a prayer held in Abuja on Friday, said that Nigeria had achieved a lot in the past 63 years, despite the numerous difficulties it faced. He commended Tinubu for his visionary leadership and his commitment to national unity and development.

He said that the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda was a comprehensive plan to address the socio-economic problems of the country, such as poverty, unemployment, insecurity, and an infrastructure deficit. He said that the agenda also aimed to promote good governance, social justice, and human rights.

Wike said that Nigerians should key into the agenda and support the president’s efforts to transform the country. He said that the agenda was in line with the vision of the founding fathers of Nigeria, who fought for the country’s independence and sovereignty.

He also praised the National Council of Islamic Affairs for organising the lecture and the prayer, saying that Islam has always played a vital role in promoting peace, harmony, and tolerance in society. He said that the FCT administration would continue to work with all stakeholders to ensure a conducive environment for all residents.

The lecture, which had the theme “Nigeria at 63: Challenges and Prospects”, was attended by dignitaries from different walks of life, including religious leaders, traditional rulers, politicians, and civil society groups. The lecture was followed by a special prayer for the peace and progress of the country.
