Urhobo Renaissance Society hails Awhefeada’s appointment as SDU Vice Chancellor

The Urhobo Renaissance Society (URS) has congratulated Professor Sunny Awhefeada on his appointment as the substantive Vice Chancellor of Southern Delta University, Ozoro, describing the development as well-deserved and a recognition of his outstanding academic and administrative credentials.

In a congratulatory letter jointly signed by the President of the society, Prof. Joseph Abugu, SAN, and its General Secretary, Dr. John Uwa, the group said Awhefeada’s emergence was a testament to his “unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership and outstanding academic prowess.” “Please accept the warmest congratulations from the Urhobo Renaissance Society on your appointment as the substantive Vice Chancellor of Southern Delta University, Ozoro,” the letter stated. “Your ascension to this prestigious position is a testament to your unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership, and outstanding academic prowess, which you so lucidly demonstrated at your Inaugural Lecture recently presented at Delta State University.” The society further expressed confidence that Awhefeada’s expertise and vision would help reposition the university for greater academic excellence and institutional growth. According to the group, “we are thrilled that your expertise and vision have been recognised by the Delta State Government, and we have no doubt that you will steer Southern Delta University towards greater heights.” URS also noted that Awhefeada’s previous role as Dean of the Postgraduate School at Delta State University, Abraka, clearly demonstrated his administrative competence and leadership capacity. “Your tenure as Dean of the Postgraduate School at Delta State University, Abraka, has showcased your exceptional administrative skills, and we are confident that you will bring the same level of excellence to your new role,” the statement said. Describing the appointment as a moment of pride for the Urhobo nation, the society said it looked forward to Awhefeada’s continued contributions to scholarship, institutional development and the advancement of the Urhobo people. “The Urhobo Renaissance Society is proud to have you as a prominent member, and we look forward to your continued contributions to the growth and development of the society and the Urhobo nation,” the statement added. URS wished the new Vice Chancellor a successful tenure at the helm of Southern Delta University.
