Pan-Atlantic University has urged media officers from Lagos State's local government councils to embrace the highest standards of ethics, accuracy, and transparency in their work. The institution hosted the delegates for a capacity-building programme centred on ethical communication in public service.

Uchenna Uzo, deputy vice-chancellor (academic) at the university, told the visitors they carry enormous responsibility in shaping how Lagosians understand their local governments. He stressed that credible information forms the backbone of public trust and effective governance.

The university, Uzo added, is committed to ensuring every graduate leaves as a competent and ethical leader prepared for the demands of 2027 and beyond. He emphasised that information must always be communicated with integrity rather than mere convenience.

Frank Wiggle, director of university relations and development, told the delegates that Pan-Atlantic University demonstrates its values through action, not rhetoric alone. He walked them through the institution's history, explaining the stories behind its buildings and the heritage embedded in their names.

The day's programme brought together media professionals from across Lagos State's local government areas for dialogue and practical training. Master's students from the School of Media and Communication led interactive sessions on community relations, crisis management, and ethical journalism.

The sessions equipped participants with tools and frameworks for engaging communities responsibly and handling sensitive situations professionally. The training covered how to balance transparency with discretion when public confidence hangs in the balance.

A tour of the university museum followed the training sessions, giving delegates insight into the institution's legacy and values. The visit closed with a group photograph, cementing the shared commitment to truthful and ethical communication across all levels of public service.

Pan-Atlantic University, a private non-profit institution based in Lagos, focuses on developing professionals equipped with integrity to serve their communities. The university continues to position itself as a leader in training ethical communicators and responsible leaders.
