Tunisia has fired head coach Sabri Lamouchi following a devastating defeat. The Carthage Eagles lost 5-1 to Sweden in their 2026 World Cup opener on Monday.

Lamouchi, a French-Tunisian tactician, lasted just five months in the role. His dismissal makes him only the third coach sacked during a World Cup tournament in history.

The football federation wasted no time in making the change. Officials said the result was unacceptable for a nation of Tunisia's stature.
