Tragic Accident on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway: Three Lives Lost

A devastating accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in the early hours of Saturday, February 17, 2024, claiming the lives of three individuals.

The incident involved a container falling off a truck and trapping the occupants of a Howo truck without registration.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has attributed the accident to dangerous driving and loss of control.

The FRSC rescue team promptly arrived at the scene and attempted to save the lives of the victims, but the three male adults involved were tragically killed due to the impact of the injury.

Their remains have been deposited at the Idera morgue in Sagamu.

The FRSC has emphasized the importance of defensive driving and taking the safety of other road users into consideration while operating a vehicle.

They have also urged drivers to anticipate the actions of other road users and to always adhere to traffic rules and regulations to prevent such accidents in the future.

A tow truck and a crane were called to the scene to remove the truck and container from the road, and the FRSC operatives are still managing the situation.

The FRSC has been actively monitoring the situation and providing updates to ensure smooth traffic flow in the affected area.
