Nollywood actor Stan Nze has confirmed that thieves made off with over five phones at late actor Alex Ekubo's service of songs on Wednesday.

The disclosure came hours after fellow actresses Bam Bam and Susan Peters reported their own stolen devices at the event. Nze, who served as MC and was close to Ekubo, shared details of the theft on Instagram Thursday.

He questioned the moral compass of Nigerians in a lengthy post. "How can you come to a place where people are mourning and steal from them?" Nze asked pointedly.

According to him, the average Nigerian lacks basic kindness and conscience. He claimed the nation's problems extend far beyond government failures to the character of ordinary citizens.

Nze noted he personally knew at least two people who lost their phones that night. Security personnel had to lock the gates to prevent anyone leaving until the devices were found, he revealed.

The actor didn't hold back in his criticism of national attitudes. "Plenty of times, we complain about the government and how Nigeria is not working, the killings and the insurgency, which is very, very true," he wrote.

But he shifted focus to personal responsibility and values. "What are our values?" Nze questioned in the post.

He wondered whether people claiming they'd improve things if in government could actually deliver change.

His reasoning was blunt: the average Nigerian's mindset makes real transformation unlikely. "I doubt that a lot because of the mindset of the average Nigerian," he stated.

Hosting Ekubo's service proved emotionally taxing, Nze explained. It ranks among the hardest things he's had to do, he said.

He condemned the apparent lack of compassion among attendees at the solemn gathering. "We're not kind people.

We're not kind with people's health, not with money, not with sympathy," the actor lamented.

Nze called on all Nigerians to change their behavior in their immediate circles. "This is a call to all Nigerians to start doing the right thing in our little circles," he emphasized.

He stressed that blaming government alone misses the point entirely. "The government is not our problem.

Even if we chase everyone in government out now, who will lead?" Nze wrote.

The theft left mourners devastated, he noted. People were visibly upset about losing their phones at such a difficult time.
