Terry G Calls for Unity in Nigerian Music Industry Amid Cultism Crisis

Terry G claims Nigerian music industry is dominated by cultists, calls for unity and eradication of cultism.

Popular singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, known as Terry G, has voiced his concerns about the state of the Nigerian music industry, claiming that it is now dominated by cultists.

In a recent episode of the Afrobeats Podcast, Terry G lamented that people like him, who are not cultists, can no longer operate in the industry.

The 'Akpako Master' stated that if cultism is eradicated from the music industry, there would be unity and a sense of family again. He said, "In my time [when I held sway], cultism used to be in the universities.

But it has entered into the music industry now. If we can remove it from the music industry, we would be [one] family again."

Terry G also pointed out that the current state of cultism in the industry has become violent, and it has become a requirement for many musicians to join a cult to pave the way for their careers.

He said, "But now, I can see the same family fighting themselves. So that’s just the major problem of the Nigerian music industry.

A lot of musicians are even scared to do music. They want to do cult before they do music now because that would paved way for them than the music."

The singer called for a reduction in the rate of cultism in the music industry, stating that it has become a major problem. He emphasized the need for unity and solidarity, saying, "When we held sway, there were people doing cultism but it wasn’t violent. It was about love. They said it was for solidarity propose."

Terry G's comments shed light on the challenges faced by the Nigerian music industry, highlighting the need for a change in the current culture of cultism and violence.
