Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has admitted that his team was lucky to defeat FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday night. The Red Devils secured their first win of the group stage thanks to a header from Harry Maguire in the 72nd minute, but they had to survive a late scare when Andre Onana saved a penalty from Jordan Larsson in stoppage time.
The penalty was awarded for a high boot from Scott McTominay on a Copenhagen player, but ten Hag felt it was a soft decision and that his team should have had a penalty of their own when Marcus Rashford was fouled in the box earlier. He praised the performances of Maguire, who scored his first goal of the season, and Onana, who made several crucial saves to keep a clean sheet.
