Tebite has no place in Ughelli South Assembly Race-Obofukoro … As Hon. Oghenemu declares interest for DTHA

A PDP chieftain and elder in Jeremi Ward 4 in Ughelli South,  Chief Sir, E. D Obofukoro has expressed his utmost displeasure over Hon. Taleb Tebite interest and formal declaration at his hometown to run for the 2019 Delta State House of Assembly election in Ughelli South.

Chief Sir Obofukoro made this position known when a House of Assembly hopeful in Ughelli South, Hon. Wilson Brume Oghenemu visited the Jeremi Ward 4 PDP Exco’s on Thursday, June 7, 2018 to notify and declare his intent to vie for the Assembly seat during the 2019 general election.
Chief Sir, Obofukoro who lamented the insincerity of other axis in the local government, said despite the zoning agreement reached over the years, those who have benefitted from the arrangement are still justling for the 2019 slot which is clearly known to all that it is the turn of Jeremi Ward 4.
He noted that without dispute or an iota of doubt, it is the turn of Jeremi Ward 4 to produced the House of Assembly Candidate. “Tebite is a good man but he has done eight years in line with the Late Senator Pius Ewherido who handed over to him.” A good leader should be able to build those who will take over from them, no place for Taleb Tebite this time, he stated.”
He called on those who are trying to sabotage the zoning pattern to desist from such as they are only doing so base on selfishness, greed and wickedness.

Earlier in his presentation, Hon. Wilson Oghenemu disclosed that since 1999 till date, none of Jeremi Ward 4 or Ovwahwa son/daughter has tasted any elective positions both in the local government or at the state level. He said having spent two tenure as a Councillor and having worked closely with those in the grassroot since 1999, he has gathered enough political experience to meet up with the needs, yearnings and desires of his people. Hon. Wilson who was so passionate in his speech, noted that most of the politicians do not know much about the plight of the people and as such failed to address notable issues bedeviling the people, adding that out of the 66 communities and towns in Ughelli South Local Government Area, much development has not been felt by the people.
He promised that if voted in, he will ensure regular meeting with the youths in order to know their needs as lasting and meaningful empkwerment will be given insyead of transient gifts of Motorcycle, Keke or Cars that may not survive the test of time.
Recounting some of his achievements as a councillor, Hon. Wilson said, he was able to attract viable infrastructural projects like health centres, drainages and blocks of class rooms to his ward. He also assured that his elders, party leaders including men, women and the youths will form part of his political think-tank as he will humble himself to hear and listen to their advice and voices.
Responding, Chief Sir, E.D, Obofukoro urged him to be focus in his ambition and shun rudeness and arrogancy. He decried a situation after being voted in, a constituent with call and such calls are either ignored or responded to with rudeness. He said every constituents have the right to call any elected political officer.
He further described Hon. Wilson Oghenemu as a silent fighter and a silent achiever. The PDP elder and leader advised the State Assembly Hopeful to give the people effective representation, noting that leadership comes from God.
Reiterating the need for positive representation, Chief Obofukoro charged the foremost House of Assembly contender to ensure the people interest comes first. He called on him to use his office if elected, to attract electricity, good roads, pipe borne water and quality education to the constituency as these is paramount to the people.

Wilson Brume Oghememu to run for the Ughelli South Constituency was attended by PDP Elders from the Ward, Exco’s and some members including, Chief Sir E.D Obofukoro, Chief T.O Ovwere, Chief Moses Agberia, Chief David Urhawha, Chief Gods power Muomuifo, Rt. Hon. Victor Kponogan, Leader Ughelli South Legislative House, Chief Ughekpoterhe and Lady Princess Obofukoro. Others are Chief Simon Duku, Mr. Samuel Mukoro, PDP Jeremi Ward 4 Chairman, Mr. Oboshe Duvwode, Secretary, Madam Ghereje Beautrice, Woman leader and others.
With his ambition formally declared to his ward exco’s, Hon. Wilson Oghenemu is set for the race into the DTHA and will officially declare to his entire ward within a short time.
