Super Falcons’ Asisat Oshoala Slams Tunde Ednut for Mocking Alex Iwobi

Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has come out to defend her fellow Nigerian footballer, Alex Iwobi, against online criticism by popular blogger Tunde Ednut.

The controversy arose after Nigeria’s loss to Ivory Coast in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.

Following the Super Eagles’ defeat, Tunde Ednut took to social media to ridicule Iwobi, who has been a frequent target of online critics.

His insensitive caption, “Iwobi is out, Thank you Lord…”, sparked outrage among fans and fellow players alike.

Asisat Oshoala, who plays for the Nigerian women’s national team, the Super Falcons, was not pleased with Ednut’s comments. In a series of heated Instagram posts, she condemned his actions and called him a “bully.”

Oshoala wrote, “Tunde is an asshole !!! Boys give him money to do giveaway, he’s acting like a god. Old fool…who the fuck do you think you are? Ode buruku.

You failed in your field and gave up, but you have the nerve to call out someone who keeps trying and is obviously doing way better than you. You should have continued if it was so easy.”

The Super Falcons star went on to say, “If Tunde has a problem with women, all he does is body shame them. Nothing is in that coconut head of his.

We accept constructive criticism, but that guy is a fucking bully! He’ll use the giveaway to cover up again as usual. Mtcheww AGBAYA BURUKU!”

Oshoala also mentioned her personal experience with cyber bullying, stating, “I’m a victim of cyber bully and I fuckin know how that shit feels especially when you’re being singled out….like yoooo d WHOLE team LOST.”

The incident has sparked a debate among fans and players alike about the importance of fair criticism and the need to support fellow players in the face of adversity.
