Nollywood star Alexx Ekubo was buried in his native Arochukwu community in Abia State this week. Tears flowed as mourners gathered to lay the beloved actor to rest.
Ekubo died on May 11, 2026, at age 40 following a battle with kidney cancer. He had been fighting the illness for some time before his passing.
A wake-keeping ceremony began Wednesday in Ujari Village, Arochukwu, drawing family and well-wishers. The funeral service followed Thursday at Mary Slessor School in Amanagwu Village.
Colleagues and friends shared moving tributes honoring his memory and contributions to film. His final resting place was the family compound in his hometown.
Throughout his career, Ekubo appeared in numerous Nollywood productions and was known for philanthropic work. His legacy continues to touch lives within and beyond the entertainment industry.
