StarTimes Nigeria is bringing all 104 matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup directly to football fans across the country. The pay-TV operator announced the rollout at a press briefing in Lagos on Thursday.
Alongside live coverage, the broadcaster unveiled a N50 million rewards package for subscribers. A single lucky viewer will pocket N10 million as the grand prize.
Next year's tournament will be hosted jointly by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It marks the first World Cup to feature 48 nations, up from the traditional 32.
Africa will send 10 representatives to the expanded competition. All matches will span across 39 days of football action.
Oke Umurhohwo, Marketing Director at StarTimes Nigeria, confirmed the broadcaster's status as an official FIFA World Cup partner. "Every single match will air live on our platform," he told reporters.
The company has created dedicated channels for tournament coverage. Basic Bouquet subscribers gain automatic access to all World Cup matches.
StarTimes is launching a nationwide "Watch and Win" campaign to engage viewers. Beyond the N10 million grand prize, subscribers can win solar home systems and television bundles.
According to Umurhohwo, the total prize package reaches N50 million in value. Seven StarTimes H30 Solar Home Systems and 14 television bundles worth 32 inches form part of the giveaway.
"This is our way of rewarding loyal customers," Umurhohwo noted. He believes the N10 million prize can transform someone's life.
StarTimes has slashed decoder and accessory prices ahead of the tournament. The move aims to make premium sports content more affordable for Nigerian viewers.
Onyebuchi Uchefuna, Sales Director for StarTimes Lagos Zone, promised comprehensive coverage beyond just matches. Pre-match analysis, halftime discussions, and post-match reviews will stream from a dedicated World Cup studio.
The StarTimes ON mobile app will also feature live match streaming. Fans can watch games on their phones from anywhere in the country.
Watch parties are planned for knockout stages across selected cities. Semi-finals and the final will see special fan engagement events organized nationwide.
These gatherings will create networking opportunities for advertisers and sponsors. StarTimes aims to deepen fan engagement throughout the tournament.
Football enthusiasts in Nigeria won't miss a moment of the action. The broadcaster's commitment ensures comprehensive World Cup coverage for all subscribers.
