Sports Minister Urges NPFL Clubs to Be Professional and Improve Player Welfare

The Minister of Sports, Senator John Enoh, has called on the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs to be professional and improve the welfare and insurance of their players.

The minister appealed to the NPFL club owners to improve their professionalism at a meeting in Abuja on Friday.

Senator Enoh said that the NPFL clubs have a collective duty and responsibility to provide quality service and leadership for the football profession in Nigeria.

The minister also expressed his concern about the poor performance of Nigerian referees on the continental and global stages.

The President of the NFF, Ibrahim Gusau, who was also present at the meeting, commended the minister for his interest in and support for the development of football in Nigeria.
