Six political parties have now picked their presidential candidates, just two days before the May 30 deadline for all primary elections.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will fly the flag for the All Progressives Congress. Atiku Abubakar is the African Democratic Congress flagbearer.
Donald Duke emerged as the Peoples Redemption Party candidate. Adewole Adebayo secured the Social Democratic Party ticket.
Omoyele Sowore is the Africa Action Congress standard-bearer. Sandy Onor will represent the Peoples Democratic Party backed by Nyesom Wike.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress is set to ratify Peter Obi as its flagbearer on Saturday. Obi ran as Labour Party's presidential candidate in 2023 and is the sole aspirant for the NDC ticket.
Accord Party is also expected to affirm Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as its candidate before the Saturday deadline.
Tinubu dominated the APC primary held on Monday across 8,809 wards nationwide. He polled 10.9 million votes in the contest.
His sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, managed only 16,504 votes. Osifo congratulated the president when receiving his certificate of return.
The African Democratic Congress concluded its presidential primary yesterday with impressive numbers. Out of 3.1 million registered members, about 2.5 million cast their votes.
