Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has stated that the government is uncertain about the crime to charges against former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele.

During a church service in Koroma, Tai Local Government Area, Rivers State, Akpabio acknowledged that the current economic situation in Nigeria is a result of past policies and actions.

“We did not even know what to charge him with – whether for putting foam on top of the bill, illegal firearm possession, printing notes without income.

I don’t know what we are going to charge him with,” Akpabio said.

The Senate President emphasized that the current economic woes and hunger were due to past policies.

“But what we can say is that yes there is hunger today because of the policies and actions that they took, and we recognize that, and I think every political party should recognize that,” Akpabio said.

He also urged the people to be patient and have faith in the government’s efforts to improve the economy and security.
