Shehu Dabai has bid farewell to Niger Tornadoes following his move to Rivers United. The transfer became official on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old striker was a key player for the Ikon Allah Boys last season. He scored seven goals across 30 league appearances.
"It's not easy to say goodbye to you my people of Nigerlite," Dabai wrote on social media. "I'm grateful for everything Niger Tornadoes gave me."
According to him, the move represents a new challenge in his career. "But in life sometimes you need to accept a new challenge," he noted.
"I wish you all the best my people of Nigerlite yours forever," Dabai added in his parting message. His words reflected the bond he'd built with the club.
Rivers United will benefit from his arrival as they gear up for domestic and continental competition. The forward strengthens their attacking lineup considerably.
