Nollywood star Regina Daniels has ruled out remarriage but insists she must have a daughter. She made these remarks during a livestream with TikToker Jarvis at her Children's Day carnival in Asaba, Delta State.
The actress said marriage is no longer on her agenda. "I've checked my mind out of getting married.
I'm yet to have a girl, and I must have a girl," she told viewers.
Daniels, who has two sons, believes motherhood reaches its deepest meaning with a female child. According to her, the mother-daughter bond carries emotional weight that differs from raising boys.
"Motherhood starts better when you have a girl child," she explained. "With boys, a father figure can serve as their role model.
But girls need their mother to be that example."
She acknowledged how her views have shifted dramatically since becoming a parent. Before her first son arrived, she had vowed never to have a daughter.
"I said no, never. I will never have a girl child," Daniels recalled.
"But after my second son, for some reason, it's the female kids that remember."
The actress also reflected on why women maintain stronger ties to their families than men do. She noted that men typically redirect their focus once married and building their own households.
"Women, she will always remember home," Daniels said of her gender's loyalty patterns. Men, she added, tend to prioritize their new family structures over their origins.
Daniels tied the knot with Senator Ned Nwoko in 2019 amid considerable public interest regarding their age gap. The couple welcomed two sons during their union.
Tensions surfaced publicly in 2025 when Nwoko claimed the actress struggled with substance abuse issues. He suggested she needed rehabilitation, allegations she firmly rejected.
She countered by accusing him of manipulation, psychological abuse and attempts at control. Following their separation, Daniels relocated to her own residence.
