Trouble's been brewing at Real Madrid. First came whispers of a dressing room brawl.

Marca broke the story days later. Defender Antonio Rudiger allegedly slapped teammate Alvaro Carreras following their 1-1 draw with Real Betis.

Carreras confirmed the incident happened. He insisted the matter had been settled between them.

Rudiger apologized and treated the players to dinner with their families that Friday. Peace, it seemed, had returned to the squad.

Then another bombshell dropped. Captain Federico Valverde clashed with midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni on the training ground.

Club bosses came down hard. Both players received fines of €500,000 each—the largest penalties in Madrid's history.

Ogbemi Rewane, producer of the Dante & Ogbe podcast, sees deeper problems. "This chaos is what happens when a club lets player power run wild," he told DAILY POST.

Rewane views the fines as a positive sign. "At least the club's finally taking action," he noted.

He believes some players are ready for change. Notably, they'd been expecting a new tactical approach from Xabi Alonso.

Leaked internal conflicts often signal opportunity. Rewane points to his own Arsenal as proof that such tensions can precede major squad overhauls.

But timing couldn't be worse for Madrid. Barcelona awaits in El Clasico on Sunday—a fixture that could decide the title race.

Barcelona sits 11 points clear with four games remaining. Madrid simply must win this one.

Rewane isn't optimistic about their chances. "The team's in disarray, and the coach looks like he's mentally checked out," he said.

Still, he acknowledged football's unpredictability. "Maybe Madrid'll pull off something unexpected," he added.

Current coach Alvaro Arbeloa appears headed for the exit. Reports suggest Jose Mourinho, currently managing Benfica, will replace him next season.

Can the Portuguese tactician fix this mess? Rewane thinks he's the right fit.

"Mourinho brings discipline and order," Rewane explained. "He's got the personality to command a dressing room and earn fan support."

Beyond restoring harmony, there's another incentive. Mourinho never won the Champions League during his first Madrid stint—a gap he'd clearly want to fill.
