The Obi of Issele-Mkpitime Kingdom, HRM Obi Sunday Ubaka Ogboli, has heaped praise on Senator Ned Munir Nwoko for keeping his promise to the community, lauding the lawmaker for backing his words with visible action.
Receiving the Delta North senator at his palace on Saturday, June 7, the monarch described Nwoko as “a man of integrity” who doesn't make empty pledges. The visit follows an earlier engagement in Abuja, during which the community appealed for key infrastructure including an ICT centre and improved road access.
“You’ve shown that you carry our needs in your heart,” the Obi told Nwoko. “Just like Oliver Twist, I must ask for more. But I do not take this visit for granted. When you thank a doer, he is encouraged to do even more. As you leave, you will always return in peace.”
Senator Nwoko, in response, confirmed that the much-anticipated ICT Centre was “a done deal,” pledging to deliver a fully equipped, secure facility.
“We’re not just building a centre; we’re creating access to opportunity,” Nwoko said. “The ICT centre will come with 100 computers, smart TVs, and five years of internet access. We’re also adding three more kilometers of road within Issele-Mkpitime.”
Taking his grassroots impact further, Nwoko announced full scholarships for five more indigent students from the community to study at his Sports University—adding to the number of beneficiaries already supported.
In an added boost, Nwoko’s Chief of Staff, Dr. Michael Nwoko, revealed that Issele-Mkpitime has been listed as one of six communities in Delta North to benefit from the ERGP Project Code 20260464, which includes construction of modern classroom blocks.
The senator’s visit, packed with promises turned into plans, drew admiration from community leaders and reaffirmed his reputation as one of the region’s most active and responsive lawmakers.
