Police Smash Weapon Trafficking Syndicate In Anambra, Seize Arms

A kidnapping syndicate in Onitsha, the commercial hub of Anambra State, has been smashed by the police authorities, who also seized some weapons from the group.

This was revealed on Saturday by Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesman of the Anambra Police Command.

He said in a statement that the success was achieved after weeks of intensive surveillance by the command’s operatives.

He added that twenty-three automatic pump action guns and 625 live cartridges were among the items recovered.

He also said that three suspects were nabbed in relation to the syndicate, and an investigation has commenced on the matter.

He cited the Anambra Police Commissioner, Aderemi Adeoye, as commending the operatives for their efforts.
