Police arrest Pastor in Delta for alleged ‘false prophecy’

The police in Sapele, Delta State, have arrested Pastor Kingsley popularly known as Obeba, the Pastor of Jesus the Solution Church, a Pentecostal church, situated along Warri – Sapele road for allegedly giving false prophecies to a boy simply called Micheal .

Obeba was said to have given a church prophesy to a male member of the church, called Micheal, which did not go down well with the boy’s parents which led them into inviting the police to arrest him.

According to a family source, who spoke to ADVOCATE anonymously said, “the pastor had prophesies some weeks back before his huge congregation that the boy’s mother was a witch, he did not only stop there he went on to say the mother was behind the boy’s problem and added that the boy’s mother uses her menstrual blood to cook for her customers”

This alleged prophecy was said to have made Micheal to run away from home while he still attends the church situated along Warri – Sapele road, probably angry over the absence of young Michael from home, and his alleged prophesy on their mother,  Michael’s family invited the police who moved in swiftly to arrest the pastor on Thursday.

However, pandemonium was said to have broke out when some of the members of the church on hearing of the arrest of their pastor stormed the police station and engaged the police in a shouting battle which led to fisticuffs.

A source at the police station, who confirmed to arrest said, “yes, they were arrested here and some of his church members came here, demanding his release violently and one even fought the police and we have charged the offender to court.

Attempt to reach the pastor was in vain as his number was switched off.

ADVOCATE also gathered that the Pastor and some of his member were arraigned before a magistrate court in Sapele on Tuesday and were granted bail.
