Police Arrest Cultists and Car Theft Syndicate in Osun

he Osun State Police Command has announced the arrest of four individuals for alleged membership in secret cults. The suspects were apprehended along the Idi-Omo area in Osogbo.

During a press briefing and suspect parade at the police command on Monday, DCP Hope Okafor revealed that the suspects had confessed to being members of the notorious Eiye confraternity, which has been terrorizing the citizens around Idi-Omo in Osogbo.

In addition to the cultism arrests, the police also apprehended four members of a car theft syndicate. The suspects were intercepted by a team of anti-kidnapping operatives acting upon credible intelligence.

According to DCP Okafor, the suspects operated under the guise of gear mechanics and subsequently stole their unsuspecting customers’ cars.

The police recovered several vehicles, including a 2014 Toyota Camry, a 2010 Toyota Camry, a 2005 Honda Accord, and another 2010 Toyota Camry.

The investigation is still ongoing, with the aim to recover other stolen cars and possibly arrest more members of the car theft syndicate. The suspects will be charged to court after the completion of the investigation.

This recent crackdown on criminal activities in the state demonstrates the commitment of the police to ensuring the safety and security of the citizens of Osun.
