Nigeria and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen will miss the Super Eagles’ friendly match against Mozambique on Monday after suffering a hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia on Friday.
Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro said Osimhen’s injury was a precautionary measure, and he did not want to risk him for the second friendly.
Nigeria will face Mozambique on Monday in their final friendly before the World Cup qualifiers resume in November. The Super Eagles are at the top of their group with nine points from three games and need one more win to secure their place in the final round.
