Omo-Agege Aide inaugurate N5,000 monthly support to Women in Udu

In his bid to bring succour and relief to Women in Udu over the incessant hike in prices of consumables and other commodities across the globe, Comrade Austine Kpedi, Special Assistant on Political Matters to the Deputy President of the Nigeria Senate and Delta APC 2023 Governorship Candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege CFR over the weekend flag off the “Ovie Omo-Agege N5,000 monthly support to selected women in Udu”.

The Coordinator of the program, Mr. Jeremiah Daji while addressing the beneficiaries at Egini and Oleri Communities stated “Twenty Women have been selected from both Egini and Oleri Communities at the flag-off edition”. This number according to him “shall be increased in the next editions which shall be extended to other Communities within Udu Local Government Area”.

According to Mr Daji, “This financial support to the beneficiaries is sponsored by Comrade Austine Kpedi who doubles as the Convener of the Coalition for Delta Interest (CDI) and Special Assistant on political matters to the incoming Delta State Governor, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege CFR.”

Jeremiah Daji while addressing the beneficiaries also said the intervention is part of Comrade Kpedi’s efforts to key into the first letter ‘E’ (Employment and Empowerment) as contained in the Ovie Omo-Agege’s acronym ‘EDGE’ to Build A New Delta ahead of its manifestation in 2023″.

Selected beneficiaries shall receive five thousand Naira (N5,000) each for a time frame of two months and other women shall be selected to benefit for the other two months and so it shall continue until May 2023. This is part of concerted efforts to bring economic relief to our People through the office of the Deputy Senate President, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege CFR.”

The beneficiaries while expressing their appreciation, thank Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for giving Comrade Austine Kpedi such an appointment that has offered him an opportunity to extend Omo-Agege’s compassionate and people-driven leadership to them. “We want to use this medium to thank Ovie Omo-Agege for giving Austine Kpedi the position he is holding, we also thank him for his excellent representation and the leadership role that has brought street lights, Transformers, pipe-borne water and this financial support to us. This is the first of its kind, particularly for women like us at the grassroots level. We thank Austine Kpedi for his selflessness and kindheartedness”.

Also reacting to the development is an APC Chieftain in Oleri Community, Chief. Joshua Oghenegweke Metobor commended Comrade Austine Kpedi for his kindheartedness and thank Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for appointing Comrade Kpedi as Special Assistant. “Thank you, Omo-Agege for giving Kpedi empowerment, we believe an elevation of Kpedi would attract more development to us as a People” he stated.
