Omo-Agege at Oleh

Omo-Agege accuses Okowa of being an ingrate for repaying Ibori’s kindness with ingratitude

…Says PDP will face Tsunamic defection in weeks to come

By Ovasa Ogaga,

Deputy Senate President and the All Progressives Congress, governorship candidate in Delta State for the 2023 general election, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Friday, accused Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of repaying all his benefactor including the former Governor James Ibori with ingratitude.

Omo-Agege stated this during the continuation of his Ward-to-Ward campaign to Ozoro and Oleh, Isoko North and South local government area said Okowa was bent on retiring his political benefactor from active politics.

He berated the Okowa-led administration for mismanaging the state’s resources, noting that those currently defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the APC were doing so on their own personal conviction.

He added that Okowa would not be able to withstand the defection tsunami that would hit the PDP in the days ahead.

Saying that the PDP, would lose the 2023 presidential election, he urged Deltans to key into the political “national grid” by voting for the APC’s candidate, Bola Tinubu.

He reiterated that Okowa’s Vice Presidency bid was the height of selfishness and treachery to the Southern Nigeria people, noting that any “vote cast for the PDP in the presidential election is a wasted vote”

While promising to bring an end to the marginalization of an oil-rich Isoko nation if elected to govern the state, he said the Okowa-led administration was inflicting untold hardship on the Isoko people despite their huge contribution to the wealth of the state.

Omo-Agege berated the Governor for promising to rescue Nigeria when he had been unable to rescue Deltans from poverty, lamenting the debt burden being inflicted on the State by the Okowa-led administration.

He said had made clear “that further attempts to collect another loan of N40 billion will be rejected by us. We have put the banks on notice that the N40 billion loan or any other loan being sought by the Okowa government in this administration just four months to go, any such loan if given by any bank, that bank will be on their own.”

Omo-Agege posited that Deltans will reject Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s vice presidential bid at the poll by voting against him and the PDP.

“PDP has lost the presidency already. Delta won’t allow Okowa to export his failure in Delta State to the presidency. Don’t allow Okowa to deceive you, any vote cast for PDP is a wasted vote.

“I want the people of Isoko Nation to key into the politics of the ‘national grid.’ The national grid for the 2023 elections is Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. If we in Delta State want to enjoy the dividends of democracy we must join Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s bandwagon because he’s the next President of Nigeria.

“We are here in Ozoro, the headquarters of Isoko North LGA. It’s an oil producing local government area. Meanwhile, Okowa is coming after the suffering he has inflicted on this local government and the entire Isoko Nation, he’s still asking you to vote PDP for another 8years.

“With all the monies (N4.2 trillion) that have come to Delta State, what’s the share of Delta North? What do you have to show?  Nothing! This is the golden opportunity the Isoko people have been waiting for. Vote all APC candidates”, Omo-Agege said.

Meanwhile, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Omo-Agege, has paid glowing tribute to the victims of the boat mishap which claimed the lives of five persons during the party’s campaign to Warri South-West LGA last year.

Omo-Agege said the victims paid the ‘supreme prize’ in their quest to liberate Delta from the maladministration of the PDP-led government of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

According to him, “Let me honour the lives of five ‘gallant Delta soldiers.’ I called them gallant soldiers because they passed in the service and the battle to liberate Delta State from the strangulation and wickedness of the Okowa administration. I want to assure them and their families today, that their sacrifice will not be in vain.

Advising the Isoko people to vote for all APC’s candidates in the forthcoming polls, he noted that the party’s senatorial candidate in Delta South, Mr. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas was the most qualified among those vying for the position in terms of intellectual content.

“In Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, you have a renowned intellect; a chartered accountant, the best educated among everyone running for that office,” he said.

Earlier while formally receiving the State for Commissioner for Urban Renewal, Chief Karo Ilolo, former Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Area, Chief Faith Majemite and other PDP chieftains who defected to the APC, the State party Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie said the decampees had moved from darkness to light.
