Okowa congratulates Ijeoma Uba on her appointment as GM Trend FM

Delta State Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on Friday congratulated veteran journalist, Ms Ijeoma Uba of Trend 100.9FM on her appointment as Acting General Manager of the radio station. 

The Governor who described Uba’s appointment as “well deserved.” noted that it was a reward for hardwork, discipline and dedication to duty.

Okowa in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, said Uba over the years has proved her mettle in the profession, saying that her recent appointment was thoroughly deserving and an inspiration to other women striving to make a name in journalism.

“I have no doubt in my mind that the cap fits Ijeoma Uba. She has a proven track record of excellence in journalism, which has seen her rise through the ranks as Head of News and now General manager of a vibrant radio station”, the governor said.

Okowa also urged Miss Uba to bring her wealth of experience to bear, not only in advancing the cause of the station, but also to intensify the station’s efforts in communicating his administrations’ SMART AGENDA to Deltans.

The Governor also commended the former General Manager, Mr Niyi Ojemakinde for his pioneering role in growing the station to what it is today, adding that listeners and fans of his popular programme “Trend Villa” will miss his nerve cracking, hilarious and entertaining show.

He thanked Mr Ojemakinde for his support to his administration in the last two years and wished him success in his future endeavours.
