Okochi Okali-Oge and Supporters Leaves PDP To Join Labour Party in Abia State

Okochi Okali-Oge, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, has joined the Labour Party (LP) along with hundreds of supporters.

Okali-Oge, who was the immediate past General Manager of the Abia State Roads Maintenance Agency (ABROMA), made this announcement in a statement released to the press on Friday in Umuahia, the state capital.

Okali-Oge cited the lack of internal democracy within the state chapter of the PDP as the primary reason for his political transition.

He also praised the commitment and diligence of Governor Alex Otti and the Labour Party’s efforts in advancing the progress of Abia State.

Okali-Oge, who was the candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP) for the Ohafia North constituency seat in the 2023 State House of Assembly elections, lost to the Labour Party candidate.

He later joined the PDP but has now decided to join the ruling Labour Party in the state.

Okali-Oge expressed his readiness to support the government by offering his knowledge and wealth of experience gained over the years in engineering for the development of Abia State.

This move by Okali-Oge and his supporters is expected to strengthen the Labour Party in Abia State and could potentially impact the political landscape in the region.
