The Special Assistant on Women Development to the Delta State Governor, Ms. Evelyn Ewomazino Ofabor, has joined millions of Deltans and Nigerians to congratulate His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, on being named Governor of the Year by THISDAY Newspaper and ARISE Television. The prestigious award was presented to the governor on Monday in Lagos.

In a congratulatory message signed by Ms. Ofabor, who is also a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader in Oyede Ward 12, Isoko North Local Government Area, and made available to journalists, she described Governor Oborevwori as “the best thing that has ever happened to Deltans.” She expressed confidence that his developmental strides would one day attract national and international recognition. “Today, I am one of the happiest souls on earth because it has happened,” she added.

According to the governor's aide, “The developmental strides of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, are second to none. Your THISDAY/ARISE Governor of the Year Award is well-deserved and timely. It proves that Deltans made no mistake voting for you in March 2023. From the depths of my heart, I say a big, big congratulations to you. You have made your appointees, our great party, the PDP, and all Deltans immensely proud.”

Ms. Ofabor highlighted the governor’s accomplishments in infrastructure and human capital development across Delta’s three senatorial districts. She urged Deltans to continue supporting the Sheriff Oborevwori-led administration, emphasizing the importance of sustaining the MORE Agenda for the state's growth and development.

"Let us extend our support beyond now to 2027," she said. "The MORE Agenda of our governor must escalate to every nook and cranny of the state. Deltans, get ready to dust your PVCs again come 2027. We did it in 2023, and the dividends of our efforts are evident today. By God’s grace, we will renew the mandate in 2027."

She concluded with a heartfelt congratulatory message to the governor: “Your Excellency, congratulations once again on your well-deserved THISDAY/ARISE Governor of the Year Award.”
