NiMet predicts three-day sunshine, haziness from Wednesday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has released its weather outlook for the week, predicting a mix of sunshine, haziness, and thunderstorms across the country from Wednesday to Friday.

The outlook, which was issued on Tuesday in Abuja, says that the northern region will experience sunny and hazy conditions with some cloudy patches over parts of Taraba state during the period.

The outlook also says that the north-central regions will have sunny and hazy weather with some cloudy patches over parts of Kwara, Kogi, and Benue states throughout the period.

The inland states of the South and the coastal cities will have cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine during the morning hours, followed by thunderstorms over parts of Edo, Ondo, Abia, Imo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Delta states in the afternoon and evening hours, the outlook says.

The outlook further says that haze and rain will affect the northern region during the period on Thursday.

The North Central region will continue to have sunny and hazy weather throughout the period, the outlook says.

The inland states of the South and the coastal areas will have cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine during the morning hours and thunderstorms over parts of Edo, Imo, Abia, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states in the afternoon and evening hours, the outlook says.

The outlook warns that dust particles will be suspended in the air and advises the public to take the necessary precautions.

It also advises people with asthma and other respiratory issues to be careful of the current weather situation.
