Nigerian Sports Minister Visits Team Nigeria’s Training Camp, Encourages Athletes for African Games Success

In preparation for the upcoming African Games 2024, the Nigerian Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, paid an unannounced visit to Team Nigeria’s training camp to motivate and encourage the athletes.

The Games, scheduled to take place from March 8 to 23, 2024, in Accra, Ghana, will be an important platform for Nigerian athletes to showcase their talent and determination on the continental stage.

During his visit, the Minister emphasized the importance of making this edition of the African Games Nigeria’s best performance yet, drawing inspiration from the country’s successful African Cup of Nations campaign.

He urged the athletes to aim for gold in all sports and events, stating that their hard work and dedication could lead to recognition from the President and even conferment of national honors.

Senator Enoh also reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting sports development in Nigeria, including investments in sports infrastructure, training programs, and athlete welfare.

He expressed his full confidence in the abilities of Team Nigeria to excel at the African Games and encouraged the athletes to push their limits and make the nation proud.

The Minister’s visit to the training camp allowed him to engage directly with the athletes and provide them with the necessary motivation and encouragement.

In addition to the camp in Abuja, athletes are also training in Lagos, Ibadan, Bayelsa, and Gombe, with the Minister planning to visit these camps as well.

As the countdown to the African Games 2024 continues, Team Nigeria is poised to represent their country with pride and determination.

With the support of the government and the guidance of the Minister, the athletes are set to showcase their talent and competitive spirit on the international stage.
