Nigeria's naira weakened further against the dollar on Friday. Official central bank data showed the currency hit N1,380.93 per dollar.
That marked a decline from Thursday's N1,380.11 rate. In one day alone, the naira lost 82 kobo.
The currency has now fallen for four straight trading days. Over the entire week, it shed N10.47 against the greenback.
On the parallel market, conditions remained relatively stable. Traders quoted the naira at N1,400 per dollar throughout most of the week.
Currency analysts attributed the weakness to increased dollar demand. Supply pressures on the foreign exchange market intensified during the trading week.
